When a file won't upload or export as expected

Questionnaires: .xlsx or .csv (save old .xls files as .xlsx first), up to 25 MB, 20 sheets and 5,000 rows per sheet. Documents: PDF, Word, Markdown or text, up to 25 MB each.

• A scanned PDF (a picture of text) can't be read yet. Upload a text version instead.
• A document showing Search pending will be searchable later: press Make searchable on the Knowledge Base.
• A damaged spreadsheet is removed straight away with a message. Choose a different file.

On export, Rendro writes only into your answer cells and leaves everything else as it was. A few cells are handled with care:

• Formula cells are never overwritten; they're listed as skipped.
• A dropdown cell only gets one of the dropdown's own options. Anything else goes into the written answer.
• Line breaks are kept only where the cell already wraps text.
• Answers starting with =, +, - or @ stay as text, so they can't run as formulas.
• CSV exports start with an invisible marker so Excel shows accented letters correctly.

If something looks wrong in an exported file, use Contact support in the ? menu and tell us the questionnaire's name. Please don't email us customer files unless we ask.
